I Will Always Write Back

Welcome back, and in this post I will be talking about a book I just read called “I Will Always Write Back”.

This book is a great read for those who want to read about a true story as well as learn something new. This book follows two students who are introduce through a pen pal assignment, Caitlin an American girl living in PA and Martin a boy living in Zimbabwe. Throughout the exchange of letter between the very different pair they both learn major differences of the world around them. Martin, living in an impoverished country is amazed by many things including the fact that its a law to go to school instead of a privilege. Caitlin at first doesn’t understand his interest and amazement in her seemingly average life, but after watching the news with her mom she realizes that Martin’s home of Zimbabwe is very different than her’s in rural Pennsylvania. After both of them realize that they live very different lives, Caitlin and her family take action and sponsor Martin through his education after they learn they learn of his struggles with money and tuition. Throughout the book you watch two very different people form a very unexpected lifelong friendship.Image result for i will always write back

I REALLY LIKED this book and would definitely recommend it to a friend. Throughout this book learned so much about someone who is very different than me (Martin) and also got to relate with and share someone’s experience of learning those new things (Caitlin). It was a big change in what I normally read, being Fantasies, Dystopians, and other fictional novels but I really enjoyed this book and hope other do too.

My Favorite Genre

Hello, Back again I see in this post I will be talking about my favorite genre to read. Now I love all genres bu there is one that always sticks out to me and that is………HISTORICAL FICTION. I love this genre for so many reason’s and here the top 3.

1. You Don’t Have to spend the first half of the book trying to figure the dynamics of the world its set in.

Now don’t get me wrong I do enjoy shacking up with a good fantasy or dystopian but because they are such abstract you waste a lot of time trying to gain an understanding of what’s happening and why things are happening, it sometimes becomes a little too much and you lose track of the story. With history the dynamics of the setting is fathomable to because it already happened and therefore you’re not confused on why fairies are flying around in the sky and rather saying “Hey I learned about this in history last week”.

2.  You get to see how different people interpret history.

I really like reading different books about the same event because you get more information from two books then one depending on how the author chooses to guide their story. Two very different authors can focus on the same battle or war and yet tell two completely different stories, It’s amazing to see the different views of different people and still be entertained throughout the whole story.

3. Its my favorite subject

The last reason is probably the most important, I love learning about history but 500 page textbooks is not any reader’s number one choice so being able to incorporate such a fascinating topic and real life people into a book and still include the author’s creativity through the plot and original characters is super cool. Lastly its also SOO much more interesting, you get to enter world mixed with someone’s fantasy as well as another time in history with real people and real events. Kinda like a time travel machine all wrapped in paper and bindings.

The Fault in Our Stars: Book or Movie.

Hey, Its me again… I know another boring post about books, BUT this is one is different. In this post i’ll be making a common comparison from one of my favorite books…..BOOK OR MOVIE?

The Fault in Our Stars

The best thing about this book is that you can read it and love it and then watch it and LOVE It even more. One of the biggest let down about movies based of books is that they either cram it all into two hours leaving it with no character development and a rushed plot…..Ugh or they take out a bunch of scenes in order for it to fit into a certain time span, well then you lose most of the book….WHAT!!!. Well not with this book I don’t think there even is a scene taken out or added, its true to the beloved plot, characters, message and overall story. Now if asked “Movie or Book” I would just have to say movie because you can watch it as-well as get some homework done or eat food and even enjoy it with friends (unless they fall asleep during it) and still watch the same story that you read in the book. This story as explains in my first blog post “My Top Five Favorite Books” is an emotional rollercoaster that you can enjoy with all of your friends and family in multiple different ways.

How To Choose A Good Book

Hello, its me again and for this post I am going to be talking about 3 tips on how to choose a good book.

1. The Cover

I know what you might be saying, “What about, DON’T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER” and yes that is a good moral but ironically not when it comes to choosing books. Our senses is what overall creates our personality, interest and style…..so wouldn’t it make sense if our sense of sight helps choose what types of books we are into based of what we see straight away, when you see a book and the cover is well, boring you would most likely keep looking (I know I would). When a person decides to start writing a book there is way more to it then a compelling story (although it is probably the most important sales, this mean that once they story is on paper, editor’s, publishers and writers all must work together to make sure the book sells, this includes choosing locations to sell (in store, online, etc), Pricing, and finding something to catch their potential readers eyes….. which is the COVER!, if the cover doesn’t scream “LOOK AT ME” then you most likely won’t even read the back cover, which means you will continue looking for that one book you are so eager to read.book cover GIF

2. Genre and Topic

Choosing book based off of something so broad as to topic or genre may seem overall obvious, but that doesn’t make it any less important. When choosing a book it is always easy to start with what do you want to read about, what topics interest you?, what topics have you enjoyed reading before. If choosing from the vast ocean of topics is to hard then start with something smaller like genre do you like fantasy, historical fiction, sci-fi, etc….And even if that is still to hard then start with the most basic one of all….. do you want to read fiction or non-Fiction two easy choices that will for sure set you on the right track to finding that great you read you are seeking.Image result for topic or genre

3. Author

Now this tip relates to mostly style, or how they write the book, this can include anything from pictures to word choice. what makes you reading experience enjoyable? .If you have enjoyed a book written by an author that has written other stories, then that’s another great chance to not only find another good read but also an easy experience in finding the next great book. Another great reason to choose a book based off of the author is that like all people authors want to expand their writing, try something new, which may include style or genre, this allows you to also expand your reading and interest in other topics.read beauty and the beast GIF

I hope these tips help you find your next page turner but an important thing you always have to keep in mind is that you can’t use just one of these tips you have to use multiple to ensure that you find the right book.

My Top 5 Favorite books

Hello!! Readers, and welcome to my first blog post, This post will be a list of my Top 5 FAVORITE books, I have EVER read.

       5.   Breathing Room: Hayles, Marsha

I first read this book in 4th grade and 4 year Image result for breathing room cover picturelater I still re-read it. This book is about a girl named Evvy who is suffering from Tuberculosis in the 1940’s. She stays at a place called Loon Lake Sanitorium, seeking a cure for at the time a deadly illness. At Loon Lake Sanitorium she struggles getting used to her surroundings with strict rules and harsh nurses, But soon she starts fitting in and makes a couple friends who will help each other brave through there illness.  One of the biggest reason I fell in love with this book is because it has short chapters but is still a good size read. I remember the first time I read this book, I was being so MAD that there wasn’t a second book. A little warning if you are interested in reading this book is that it is an Emotional Roller Coaster!!! but an amazing book.

     4.  Dont Let Me Go: Ryan Hyde, Catherine

Theres always those moment in someones life where there mom tells them to do something no matter how much you dont want to and completely regretting ever doubtinging it, this was one of those moments for me… My mom told me to read this book because she fell in love with it and I was very doubtful it just didnt sound that good to me. BOY!!!! was I wrong. This story is about a 10 year old girl named Grace who lives in a apartment complex with her mom who is also a drug addict, one day grace was sitting outside…alone and a man named Billy asked her if she was ok, thus a beutiful friendship was created. Theres one thing about Billy that most poeple would find strange and that is becuase he is extremely agoraphobic. Grace also meets other people living in her apartment complex and after a surprise visit from a social worker who had noticed her mothers condition… the neighbors all work togther to help take care of Grace while her mother gets clean.

     3. Me Before You: Moyes, Jojo

A little WARNING before you even consider reading or watching this story is that make sure tissues are within arms reach becuase you will need them. This is one of those books where it is impossoble not to fall in love with its characters. Louisa “Lou” the average small town girl ( In England) working at your average coffee shop, until one day the shop goes out of business, causing Lou to go into a frenzy searching for a job. She finally finds a job as a caretaker for a quadriplegic named Will, at first there relationship is strictly proffessional and a bit spiteful, until one day………NO SPOILERS.  This book is probably the definition of a sappy romance book, but in a good way.

      2. The Fault In Our Stars: Green, John

Image result for the fault in our stars book

Speaking of emotional roller coasters, and the need for tissues…..and sappy romances, The Fault In Our Stars is the full package. Hazel Grace Lancaster a 16 year old remarkably conscientious, aware and intelligent girl and Augustus Waters a confident and charming (and created one of my favorite “metaphors” if you know what I mean) 16 year old boy. Two very different people who share the same affliction…..cancer. There love story will take you through a wave, no a tsunami of emotions  that you probably didnt even know you had. I cant even remeber how mnay times I have read and watched there story and to this day I still will never get sick of it and I dont think I ever will.

      1.  Call Me By Your Name: Aciman, André

I read this book a couple weeks ago and I am still flabbergasted by how AMAZING it was, It was so good that I already want to re-read it. This book is so perfect that I cant even summarize it in my own words so here is the official sumary. “It’s the summer of 1983, and precocious 17-year-old Elio Perlman is spending the days with his family at their 17th-century villa in Lombardy, Italy. He soon meets Oliver, a handsome doctoral student who’s working as an intern for Elio’s father. Amid the sun-drenched splendor of their surroundings, Elio and Oliver discover the heady beauty of awakening desire over the course of a summer that will alter their lives forever.” A story of true love that left me not wanting but needing more, But dont worry of you love this book as much as I did….. the sequal will be published on Oct 29 2019.
